Q1: What scale are these train models, and what does "HO Scale" mean?
A: All of our locomotive models are produced in 1:87 scale, also known as HO scale — the most popular and widely supported scale in the model railway hobby worldwide. This means a real locomotive 87 meters long would be reproduced as roughly 1 meter in model form, scaled proportionally.
Q2: What locomotives are included in this collection?
A: Our lineup features classic electric locomotives from multiple countries and eras, including the American GG1 4910 (1941), the German BR 103 226-7 (1973), the Swiss Re 4/4 IV (1982), the French Série BB 12087 (1957), and several other historic European locomotive classes.
Q3: Do the models come with a section of track included?
A: Yes, most of our locomotive listings include a section of HO-scale track, so the model can be displayed sitting realistically on rails right out of the box. Check each individual product page, as track inclusion can vary slightly by listing.
Q4: Do I need to assemble the locomotive myself?
A: No. These are finished, ready-to-run static models — there's no assembly, painting, or gluing required. Several listings are explicitly labeled "No Assembly Required" or "Ready-to-Run" to make this clear.
Q5: Are these models motorized, or can they run on a real train track layout?
A: No, these are static display models, not powered or motorized train sets. They are designed to be displayed as standalone collectibles or as part of a static HO-scale diorama, not to run under their own power on a track layout.
Q6: What material are these locomotive models made from?
A: Our train models are primarily diecast metal alloy construction combined with plastic detailing for fine features like pantographs, railings, and undercarriage components, giving each piece realistic weight and durability.
Q7: Are the liveries and markings on these locomotives historically accurate?
A: Yes, we aim to faithfully reproduce the authentic paint schemes, numbering, and era-appropriate detailing of each real-world locomotive class, based on historical references for railways across the US and Europe.
Q8: Are these models compatible with other HO-scale train sets or layouts?
A: Since they are built to standard 1:87 HO scale, these locomotives are generally size-compatible for display alongside other HO-scale models and dioramas. However, since they are non-motorized static models, they won't function as a powered part of an operating train layout.
Q9: Are these models suitable for children, or are they intended for adult collectors?
A: This collection appeals to both. Several listings are described as suitable gifts for kids, teens, and adult collectors alike, though due to small detailed parts, adult supervision is recommended for younger children.
Q10: How do I clean and care for my locomotive model?
A: Dust the model gently with a soft, dry brush or microfiber cloth. Avoid water, solvents, or household cleaners, which can damage the paint finish or cause metal parts to oxidize over time.
Q11: What if my model arrives damaged or with missing parts (like the track)?
A: Please inspect your order as soon as it arrives. If you notice any damage, a missing track section, or other defects, contact us immediately at service@nuotie.com with photos so we can arrange a replacement or refund.
Q12: What is your return policy?
